Elena Lai originally from Sardinia succeeded ETSA’s Robert Long as Secretary General of the association last November 2020.
Lai’s previous career milestones include working for Nottingham City Council serving as a government relations in the EUROCITIES Culture Forum and Creative Industries Working Group. In 2011, Lai was tapped as secretary general of CEPI, the European Coordination for Independent Producers. In this post, she helped guide the association in adapting to an “ever-evolving digital single market” with focus on copyright issues, research and innovation.
In parallel to this role, she worked in Europe Analytica a Brussels based consultancy, where she served as “head of office” with close focus on public affairs, lobby and in advocacy for cultural and creative industries across the Europe and beyond and significant expertise on EU funding schemes and their implementation.
Her current work at ETSA has seen the organization be named an EU Climate Ambassador and the organization has grown in both notoriety and in cooperation with its members and national associations.
